Ingredients/Components
- packed brown sugar - 2 c
- sifted all-purpose flour
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter or margarine, softened - 1/2 c
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- milk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- whipped topping optional - 1 item
How to make crumb cake:
In mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Remove 1 cup mixture and combine with cinnamon and nuts. Set aside. To remaining crumb mixture, add milk and baking powder. Spread into greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture over batter. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until cake tests done.
