Ingredients/Components
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- packed brown sugar - 2 c
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- all-purpose flour
- butter or margarine, softened - 1/2 c
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- whipped topping and pecan halves optional - 1 item
How to make crumb cake:
In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles a coarse meal. Remove 1 cup mixture; add milk and baking powder. Spread into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Sprinkle the reserved crumb topping over batter. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until cake tests done. Cut into squares. Garnish with whipped topping and pecan halves if desired. Yields 12 to 16 servings.Recipe categories: Egg, Breads, Coffee cakes.
