Creme de menthe brownies
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- can chocolate syrup - 1 oz
- chocolate chips - 1 c
- powdered sugar - 2 c
- butter or margarine, softened - 1/2 c
- creme de menthe - 2 Tbsp
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition
- Note: You can substitute mint flavoring flavored to taste and green food coloring
How to make creme de menthe brownies:
Cream butter; gradually add 1 cup sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with chocolate syrup, beginning and ending with flour. Stir in vanilla. Pour batter into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 25 to 28 minutes. Cool.Icing:1/4 c. butter or margarine2 c. powdered sugar2 Tbsp. creme de menthe Cream butter or margarine; gradually add powdered sugar and creme de menthe, mixing well. (Note: You can substitute mint flavoring (flavored to taste) and green food coloring.) Spread evenly over cooled brownies. Chill one hour.Final Layer:1/4 c. butter or margarine1 c. chocolate chips Combine butter or margarine and chocolate chips in a double boiler (or melt in microwave). Melt. Spread over icing layer.
