Ingredients/Components
- milk
- flour - 1/4 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- water - 1 item
- small carrot - 1 item
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- small bay leaf - 1 item
- small onion - 1 item
- chopped pimentos - 2 Tbsp
- rib celery - 1 item
- patty shells - 1 item
- single chicken breasts - 4 item
- hot biscuits or cornbread - 1 item
How to make creamed chicken:
Cover chicken breasts with water; add next 5 ingredients and cook until tender. Cool; drain and then cube, discarding skin and bones. Strain stock, melt butter in saucepan and blend in flour, salt and pepper. Stir in chicken stock and milk. Cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Add chicken and pimentos and heat thoroughly. Serve in patty shells, over biscuits or cornbread squares. Serves 6.Recipe categories: Low protein, Main dish, Low Carb.
