Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 4 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sifted flour - 1 c
How to make cream puffs:
Add shortening to boiling water and bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Add flour and salt all at once and stir vigorously until ball forms in center of pan. Cool slightly. Add unbeaten eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each egg. Mixture should be very stiff. Shape on greased cookie sheet by dropping from spoon or pastry bag. Bake. Cook medium size (3-inch) for 10 minutes at 450° and 20 minutes at 350°. Cool. Cut slice off top. Fill with cream, ice cream or pudding.
