Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 Tbsp
- eggs - 2 item
- milk
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cornstarch - 4 Tbsp
- boiling water - 1/2 c
- shortening - 1/4 c
- sifted flour - 1/2 c
- butter, scalded - 2 Tbsp
How to make cream puffs:
Cream:2 c. milk2 Tbsp. butter, scalded4 Tbsp. sugar4 Tbsp. cornstarch Dissolve in part of milk. Add 2 eggs, beaten; cook.Sift together flour and salt. Melt shortening in water over direct heat. Add dry ingredients all at once, stirring constantly. Stir until mixture leaves the side of the pan in a smooth, compact ball. Remove from heat. Add eggs, one at a time, beating vigorously after each addition until mixture is smooth again. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls on a greased baking sheet, placing 1 1/2-inches apart. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes, then at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes. Makes 6 to 8. Cool.
Just before serving, fill custard made with 1 package Ideal vanilla flavored dessert.
