Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- water - 1 c
- large eggs - 4 item
- oleo - 1/2 c
- egg yolks, slightly beaten - 4 item
- heavy cream, whipped - 1/2 c
- Bring to a boil
How to make cream puffs:
In medium saucepan, place water, oleo and salt. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in flour all at once; beat well until mixture leaves the sides of the pan. Cool for 1 minute, add eggs one at a time, beating well. Mixture should be smooth and glossy. Make 1 1/2-inch mounds on greased baking sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake 15 minutes at 450°. Reduce heat to 350° and continue baking 30 minutes or until shells are golden brown. Make a slit in side, cool and fill with filling.Cream Puff Cream Filling:1 c. sugar6 Tbsp. flour1/4 tsp. salt1 1/2 c. milk4 egg yolks, slightly beaten1/4 c. oleo1 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. heavy cream, whipped In medium saucepan, combine sugar, flour and salt; gradually stir in milk. Cook, stirring constantly, over low heat until mixture thickens (5 minutes). Add egg yolks, cooking and stirring 3 minutes longer, do not allow to boil.
