  • sour cream - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 4 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • warm water - 1/2 c
  • packets dry yeast - 2 item

How to make cream cheese braids:

Filling:2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese3/4 c. sugar1 egg1/2 tsp. salt2 tsp. vanilla Glaze:2 c. sugar4 to 8 tsp. milk2 tsp. vanilla Heat sour cream in microwave. Stir in sugar, salt and margarine. Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large mixing bowl. Add sour cream mixture. Add 2 eggs and flour; mix well. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight.

Divide dough into 4 equal parts. Roll out on a well floured board to 12 x 8-inches. Mix filling and place 1/4 on each section of dough. Roll up; pinch edges. Slit about every 2 inches 2/3 of the way through the roll. Let rise until double. Bake at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes on greased baking sheet. Cool. Mix glaze and brush on lightly.
