Cranberry nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- baking powder
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- sifted flour - 2 c
- egg, well beaten - 1 item
- grated orange peel - 1/2 tsp
- orange juice - 3/4 c
- fresh cranberries, coarsely chopped - 1 c
How to make cranberry nut bread:
Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Combine peel, juice and egg; add to dry ingredients, mixing just to moisten. Fold in berries and nuts. Turn into a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan. Bake in a 350° oven for 60 minutes. Cool, wrap and store overnight.Recipe categories: Breads, Fruit, Quick breads.
