  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • onion, chopped - 1/4 c
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • cornbread mix - 1 pkg
  • can whole kernel corn, drained - 1 oz
  • can Ranch Style beans, drained - 1 oz
  • 5 oz

How to make corn pone pie:

Brown ground beef and onion in skillet until meat crumbles. Drain well. Stir in corn, beans, tomatoes and pepper. Cook over medium heat until thoroughly heated. Pour into an 11 x 7 x 1 1/2-inch baking dish. Set aside. Mix cornbread according to package directions and pour over mixture. Bake at 400° for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
