  • stick butter, melted - 1 item
  • nuts optional - 1 c
  • box powdered sugar - 1 lb
  • box German chocolate cake mix - 1 item
  • cream cheese room temperature - 8 oz

How to make cookie bars:

Mix the cake mix, butter, egg and nuts together and spread into greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Mix powdered sugar, eggs and cream cheese together. Pour over cake mix. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes. Cool; cut into squares.
