  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • margarine - 1 tsp
  • miniature marshmallows
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • finely chopped nuts - 1 item
  • grated cheese - 1 item
  • bananas, diced - 2 item
  • juice for topping
  • When gelatin begins to congeal, add pineapple, bananas and marshmallows
  • nondairy topping such as Cool Whip - 3/4 c

How to make company salad:

Prepare gelatin according to package directions. When gelatin begins to congeal, add pineapple, bananas and marshmallows. Pour into 9-inch glass square dish and refrigerate until set.Topping:1/2 c. pineapple juice1/2 c. sugar2 Tbsp. flour1 egg, beaten1 tsp. margarine3/4 c. nondairy topping (such as Cool Whip) finely chopped nuts grated cheese Mix together in a saucepan the pineapple juice, sugar, flour and egg. Bring to a boil over low heat to thicken. Add margarine. When cool, fold in nondairy topping. Spread over gelatin. Sprinkle lightly with finely chopped nuts and some grated cheese. Cut in squares to serve.

This salad compliments all main dishes, such as chicken, turkey, ham, fish or roasts.
