- sugar - 2 c
- milk - 3/4 c
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 3/4 c
- eggs, separated - 4 item
- coconut - 1 (grated)
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- egg whites - 3 item
- Add well-beaten egg yolks
How to make coconut cake:
Cream butter and sugar. Add well-beaten egg yolks. Then alternately add milk and flour, which has been sifted with the baking powder. Then add stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla extract. Bake in two 9-inch layer pans, greased and lined on bottom with waxed paper, in 375° oven for 25 to 30 minutes.Icing:3 c. sugar3 egg whites1 coconut (grated) or 1 pkg. coconut Moisten sugar with water and boil until it threads.
