Cinnamon twists
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 item
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- melted butter - 3 tsp
- cinnamon-sugar mixture - 1 item
- rounded baking powder - 4 tsp
How to make cinnamon twists:
Beat eggs well, beating in sugar gradually; stir in milk. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon together; stir into egg mixture. Add butter and vanilla; mix well. Turn dough onto floured board; knead lightly. Pat dough to thin rectangle; cut into 3 x 1 1/2-inch strips. Cut slits. Let twists rest for about 5 minutes; fry twists (4 or 5 at a time) in a deep hot fat until golden. Drain on paper towels; roll in mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
