  • sugar - 1 item
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • melted butter - 3 tsp
  • cinnamon-sugar mixture - 1 item
  • rounded baking powder - 4 tsp

How to make cinnamon twists:

Beat eggs well, beating in sugar gradually; stir in milk. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon together; stir into egg mixture. Add butter and vanilla; mix well. Turn dough onto floured board; knead lightly. Pat dough to thin rectangle; cut into 3 x 1 1/2-inch strips. Cut slits. Let twists rest for about 5 minutes; fry twists (4 or 5 at a time) in a deep hot fat until golden. Drain on paper towels; roll in mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Yield: 3 dozen twists.
