Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • milk
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/4 c
  • margarine, melted - 1/4 c
  • dry yeast - 1 pkg
  • pecans, chopped - 1/2 c

How to make cinnamon crisps:

Topping:1 c. sugar1/2 c. pecans, chopped1 tsp. cinnamon Combine 2 cups flour and yeast in bowl. Heat milk, 1/4 cup sugar, shortening and salt until shortening melts. Add to dry ingredients in bowl. Beat 3 minutes. Add enough remaining flour to make soft dough. Shape into bowl and place in greased bowl. Let rise in warm place 2 hours. Punch down dough and half. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.

Roll out dough into 12-inch squares. Combine 1/4 cup melted butter, brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon; spread over dough and roll up in jelly roll fashion. Cut into 24 rolls and place on greased cookie sheets. Flatten rolls to 3-inch diameter. Let rise 30 minutes. Brush tops with remaining melted margarine. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle on rolls. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 400°.
