Cinnamon bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/4 c
- sifted all-purpose flour - 2 c
- sour milk - 1 c
How to make cinnamon bread:
Preheat oven to 350°. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a large mixing bowl; set aside. Cream shortening gradually adding 1 cup sugar; add eggs and beat until light and fluffy. Add flour alternately with milk, mixing well after each addition. Add vanilla and mix until well blended.Combine remaining 2 tablespoons sugar with cinnamon; mix well. Spoon half of the batter into a lightly greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan; sprinkle with half of the sugar-cinnamon mixture. Add remaining batter and sprinkle with sugar-cinnamon mixture. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until done.
