Ingredients/Components
- flour - 2 c
- sugar - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking soda
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- 4 sq - 4 oz
- water - 1 c
- sour cream - 3/4 c
- shortening - 1/4 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- Grease and flour two 8 or 9-inch round cake pans
- dairy sour cream - 1/4 c
- margarine - 1/4 c
- milk - 3 Tbsp
- 3 sq - 3 oz
How to make chocolate sour cream cake:
Heat oven to 350°. Grease and flour two 8 or 9-inch round cake pans. Line bottom of pans with waxed paper. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. In medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and baking powder; blend well. Set aside. In large bowl, combine remaining cake ingredients; add dry ingredients. Blend at low speed until moistened; beat 3 minutes at highest speed. Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans. Cool completely.Frosting:3 c. powdered sugar1/4 c. dairy sour cream1/4 c. margarine3 Tbsp. milk1 tsp. vanilla3 oz. (3 sq.) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled In small bowl, combine all frosting ingredients at low speed until moistened; beat at highest speed until smooth and creamy.
