Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- flour - 2 c
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- shortening or oil - 1/2 c
- stick oleo - 1 item
- cocoa - 1/4 c
- water - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- In a saucepan, mix oleo, oil, cocoa and water
- milk - 6 Tbsp
- powdered sugar - 1 pkg
How to make chocolate sheet cake:
Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt together in a bowl. In a saucepan, mix oleo, oil, cocoa and water. Bring it to a boil. Remove from heat and pour over flour mixture. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add eggs, vanilla and buttermilk to first mixture. Beat well. Pour into 12 x 8-inch pan and bake at 400° for 20 minutes. Five minutes before it is done, make the icing.Icing:1 stick oleo4 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk1 pkg. powdered sugar Mix oleo, milk and cocoa in saucepan and bring to a boil. Place sugar in bowl and pour hot liquid over sugar. Beat and add 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 cup of nuts, if desired. Pour over hot cake.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 60 mins.
