Chocolate pound cake

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 3 c
• eggs - 5 item
• vanilla - 2 tsp
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• cocoa - 1/2 c
• baking powder - 1/2 tsp
• shortening - 1/2 c
• sifted cake flour - 3 c
• sweet milk - 1 c
• sticks butter or margarine - 2 item

How to make chocolate pound cake:

Cream shortening and butter; add sugar and beat and cream until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour and dry ingredients together three times. Add to other mixture alternately with milk, to which vanilla has been added. Blend thoroughly. Turn into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
