  • sugar - 3 c
  • eggs - 5 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • sticks margarine - 2 item
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • vegetable shortening - 1/2 c
  • sifted flour - 3 c
  • sweet milk

How to make chocolate pound cake:

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa together; then sift 3 more times. Add milk and flour mixture alternately. Add vanilla. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until done.
