Chocolate mousse
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk
- chocolate chips - 1 c
- envelope Knox unflavored gelatine - 1 item
- whipping cream, sweetened and whipped - 1 c
- whipping cream, sweetened and whipped for topping - 1 c
How to make chocolate mousse:
Mix the gelatine and sugar in a medium saucepan. Blend in milk. Stir over low heat until gelatin dissolves. Do not boil! Remove from heat; add chocolate. Stir until chocolate melts, then beat with whisk until smooth. Stir in vanilla. Chill until almost set.Whip the cream in a 2-quart bowl. Add the chocolate mixture. Beat until well blended, but not so long it gets runny. Pour into a baked 10-inch pie shell or into dessert bowls. Chill. Top with additional whipped cream just before serving.
