  • sugar - 1 c
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/8 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1 Tbsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 4 Tbsp
  • baking soda - 2 Tbsp
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • shortening - 3 Tbsp
  • nuts - 1/2 c
  • raisins - 1 c
  • mayonnaise - 1 c

How to make chocolate mayonnaise cake:

Add water to raisins and cook until 1 cup of water is left. Cool.

Sift together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, soda and salt. Set aside. Cream together shortening and 1 cup sugar. Add raisins and liquid. Stir in the dry ingredients. If dough seems too dry, add a bit of water. Stir in nuts. Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake at 325° for 40 to 45 minutes.
