Chocolate mayonnaise cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- water - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1 Tbsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- baking soda - 2 Tbsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- shortening - 3 Tbsp
- nuts - 1/2 c
- raisins - 1 c
- mayonnaise - 1 c
How to make chocolate mayonnaise cake:
Add water to raisins and cook until 1 cup of water is left. Cool.Sift together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, soda and salt. Set aside. Cream together shortening and 1 cup sugar. Add raisins and liquid. Stir in the dry ingredients. If dough seems too dry, add a bit of water. Stir in nuts. Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake at 325° for 40 to 45 minutes.
