Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 1/4 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  • chocolate chips - 6 oz
  • egg - 1 item
  • softened butter - 1/2 c
  • maraschino cherries - 10 oz
  • sweetened condensed milk - 1/2 c

How to make chocolate covered cherry cookies:

Sift dry ingredients together. Beat butter and sugar on low until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Beat well. Stir in dry ingredients and mix well. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press in center and place drained cherry in center.

In small saucepan, combine chocolate chips and milk until chocolate is melted. Stir in 1 tablespoon of drained cherry liquid. Spoon 1 tablespoon of chocolate/milk mixture over each cherry. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.
