Chocolate cherry bars
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- pkg - 6 oz
- milk - 1/3 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- almond extract - 1 tsp
- butter or oleo - 5 Tbsp
- can cherry fruit filling - 21 oz
- fudge cake mix - 1 pkg
How to make chocolate cherry bars:
Frosting:1 c. sugar1/3 c. milk5 Tbsp. butter or oleo6 oz. pkg. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces Preheat oven to 350°. Using solid shortening or oleo (not oil) grease and flour 15 x 10-inch jelly roll or 13 x 9-inch pan. In large bowl combine first 4 ingredients. By hand stir until well mixed. Pour into prepared pan. Bake jelly pan 20 to 30 minutes, 13 x 9-inch pan 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.In small saucepan combine sugar, butter and milk. Boil, stirring constantly 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate pieces until smooth. Pour over bars.
