- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- sticks margarine - 2 item
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- powdered sugar - 1 box
- self-rising flour - 2 c
- sweet milk - 6 Tbsp
- In saucepan, bring to a boil margarine, cocoa and water
How to make chocolate cake:
Mix sugar, flour and salt. In saucepan, bring to a boil margarine, cocoa and water. Pour over dry ingredients and add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla. Pour in greased 9 x 13-inch pan and bake 20 minutes at 400°. Frost cake, if desired.Frosting:1 stick margarine4 tsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. sweet milk1 box (2 c.) powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla During last 5 minutes of cooking time, melt and bring to a boil margarine, cocoa and sweet milk.
