Chili sauce
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 5 Tbsp
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- vinegar - 1 qt
- ginger - 2 Tbsp
- mustard - 1 Tbsp
- ripe tomatoes, chopped - 1 gal
- celery, chopped - 1/2 c
- cayenne pepper - 1/2 tsp
- green peppers, chopped - 1/2 c
- grated nutmeg - 1 Tbsp
- white onions, chopped - 1/2 c
- sweet red peppers, chopped - 1/2 c
- red food color may be used - 1 item
How to make chili sauce:
Ketchup spice may be used and others omitted.Peel tomatoes and onions. Chop onions, celery and peppers fine. Boil all ingredients, except vinegar, for 2 hours or until soft and broken. Add vinegar; simmer for 1 hour. Stir frequently. Seal in hot, sterile jars.
