Ingredients/Components

  • beaten eggs - 2 item
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • dried thyme, crushed - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
  • ground beef
  • ground pork - 1/2 lb
  • can tomato sauce 1 c - 1 oz
  • soft bread crumbs 1 1/4 slices bread - 1 c
  • diced American cheese 4 oz - 1 c

How to make cheesy meat loaf:

In saucepan, cook onion and green pepper in boiling water until tender; drain. Stir in tomato sauce, eggs, cheese, bread crumbs, thyme, 1 teaspoon of salt and dash of pepper. Add ground beef and ground pork, mixing well. Shape into loaf in baking dish. Bake in a 350° oven for 1 1/2 hours. If desired, trim plate with pickled peppers. Serves 8 to 10.
