  • milk - 2 c
  • melted butter - 1/2 c
  • plain flour - 1/4 c
  • Velveeta cheese - 2 lb
  • small onion, chopped fine - 1 item
  • carrots - 12 item
  • slices bread - 3 item
  • stick melted butter - 1 item
  • celery salt - 1/2 tsp
  • bun - 1 item

How to make carrot casserole:

Cook onion in butter, then add flour. Mix until paste, then add 2 cups milk and cook until thick. Have 12 carrots, sliced longways, already cooked in salted water until tender. Butter a casserole dish.

Layer 1/2 carrots, cover with 1/2 sauce, slice 1/2 Velveeta cheese (1 pound) and cover casserole. Repeat the layers with remaining halves. Make buttered bread crumbs from 3 slices of bread and 1 bun with 1 stick melted butter. Top casserole with crumbs. Bake at 350° for 1/2 hour.
