Ingredients/Components
- small onion, minced - 1 item
- all-purpose flour - 1/4 c
- seasoned pepper - 1/4 tsp
- sliced, scraped carrots, cooked and drained - 4 c
- slices American cheese - 6 item
- buttered fresh bread crumbs - 2 c
- melted butter - 1/4 c
- seasoned salt - 1 tsp
- milk - 2 c
How to make carrot casserole:
Saute the onion in butter. Stir in flour, seasoned salt and seasoned pepper. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly. Arrange a layer of carrots in a 2-quart casserole. Place 3 slices of cheese over the carrots. Repeat layers. Pour the sauce over the carrots and top with bread crumbs.
