Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 5 item
  • vanilla - 1 Tbsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 Tbsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • butter - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 3 c
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • light brown sugar - 1 lb
  • white sugar - 1 c

How to make caramel nut pound cake:

Cream butter, Crisco, brown sugar and white sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add alternately with milk to the batter. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into a well-greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours. Cool in pan for 15 minutes.
