Caramel nut pound cake
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 1 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- all-purpose flour - 3 c
- white sugar - 1 c
- finely chopped nuts - 1 c
- box light brown sugar - 1 item
How to make caramel nut pound cake:
Cream butter, brown sugar and shortening very well. Gradually add white sugar and continue creaming. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one.Combine dry ingredients. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Add vanilla and nuts. Blend well. Pour batter into well greased 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done.
