Brown sugar pound cake
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1 c
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- light brown sugar - 1 lb
- Add eggs one at a time
- chopped nuts I use pecans - 1 c
- milk or half & half - 6 Tbsp
How to make brown sugar pound cake:
Beat butter, Crisco and sugar until light & fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Sift dry ingredients & add to creamed mixture. Add milk, alternating with dry ingredients. Add vanilla & nuts. Pour into greased 10 inch tube pan. Bake 1 hour & 15 minutes at 350 degrees or until done. I serve with strawberries or glaze.Glaze:1 c. confectioners sugar2 Tbsp. butter6 Tbsp cream (can use evaporated. milk or half & half)1/2 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. chopped nuts Blend well; pour over cake.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Weeknight.
