Caramel dumplings
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1 c
- milk - 1 c
- flour - 2 c
- brown sugar - 2 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- water
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
How to make caramel dumplings:
Melt first 3 ingredients together; do not boil. Cream together the sugar and butter. Add flour alternately with milk, then add vanilla, cinnamon and nuts. Put syrup in a 9 x 12-inch baking dish. Add batter by spoonfuls to syrup. Bake at 350° for 1/2 hour. (Test with toothpick.) Serve upside down.Recipe categories: Desserts, Low protein, Puddings and mousses.
