Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- stick margarine - 1/4 item
- water - 1/4 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- lemon juice - 1 tsp
- medium sweet potatoes - 5 item
- syrup - 3 Tbsp
How to make candied yams:
Boil potatoes until half done; peel, cut and place in baking dish. Combine sugar, water, syrup and margarine; cook over low heat until it forms soft ball when dropped into cold water. Add lemon juice; pour over potatoes and sprinkle with nutmeg. Place in 450° oven; cook for about 1 hour, basting potatoes with syrup.Recipe categories: Pineapple, Side dish, Casseroles.
