Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • vinegar - 1 c
  • salad oil - 2/3 c
  • garlic salt - 1 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1 c
  • celery seed - 2 tsp
  • bell pepper - 1 c
  • celery, chopped - 2 c
  • large jar pimento - 1 item
  • large can sauerkraut - 1 item

How to make calico salad:

Dressing:1 1/2 c. sugar1 c. vinegar2/3 c. salad oil1 tsp. salt Mix all dressing ingredients and heat. Cool and pour over other ingredients. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Great on hot dogs. Will keep in refrigerator for weeks.
