- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- almond extract - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- softened butter - 1/2 c
- sifted plain flour - 3 c
- softened margarine - 1/2 c
- buttermilk, divided - 1 c
How to make buttermilk pound cake:
Preheat oven to 325°. Combine baking soda and 1/4 cup buttermilk. Stir and set aside. Cream butter and margarine. Add sugar and mix thoroughly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour; measure and sift 3 more times.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, For large groups.
