  • sugar - 2 c
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • Crisco - 1 c
  • lemon flavoring - 1 tsp
  • plain flour, sifted - 3 c
  • large eggs room temperature - 3 item
  • buttermilk room temperature - 1 c

How to make buttermilk pound cake:

Cream sugar and Crisco. Add milk and flour alternately. Add soda; mix well. Add eggs (one at a time). Add flavoring. Grease and flour tube pan. Bake 1 hour in 350° oven (in a cold oven).
