Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- all-purpose flour - 1 c
- pepper - 1 tsp
- , cut up - 1 fryer
- cooking oil for frying - 1 item
How to make buttermilk fried chicken:
Place chicken in flat dish. Pour buttermilk over. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour. Mix flour, salt and pepper in a paper bag. Drain chicken. Toss, one at a time, in flour mixture. Place on waxed paper for 10 minutes to dry.Heat oil in a large skillet. Fry chicken until browned on all sides. Cover and simmer, turning occasionally, for 35 or 40 minutes or until chicken is tender.
