Overnight chicken casserole
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 4 item
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter, melted - 2 Tbsp
- mayonnaise - 1/2 c
- can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
- chopped, cooked chicken - 4 c
- jar chopped pimentos - 1 oz
- jar mushrooms - 1 1/2
- American cheese slices - 6 oz
- slices day old bread - 8 item
How to make overnight chicken casserole:
Remove crusts from bread; set aside. Arrange bread slices in a greased 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Top with chicken; cover with mushrooms.In a bowl, beat eggs; blend in milk, salt and mayonnaise. Pour over chicken. Arrange cheese on top. Combine soup and pimentos; pour over cheese. Cover and put in refrigerator overnight.
Before baking, crumble crusts, toss with melted butter and sprinkle over casserole. Bake, uncovered, at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
