Buttermilk chocolate cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- milk - 1/3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 3 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- box confectioners sugar - 1 item
- sticks oleo - 2 item
- stick oleo - 1 item
How to make buttermilk chocolate cake:
Sift flour, sugar and salt 2 times. Melt oleo. Add water and cocoa. Bring to a boil and pour over dry ingredients; mix well. Add eggs, buttermilk (in which soda has been dissolved), and vanilla. Bake in a greased cake pan at 350° for 20 minutes or until done done in a 9 x 13-inch pan.Icing: Melt oleo. Add cocoa, milk and vanilla and mix. Sift confectioners sugar into mixture and beat until spreadable. Serves about 20.
