  • shortening - 1 c
  • eggs - 4 item
  • flour - 3 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • lemon flavoring - 2 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • Glaze while still hot
  • powdered sugar
  • lemon rind - 1 Tbsp

How to make buttermilk cake:

Mix all together and bake in a tube pan at 350° for 1 hour. Glaze while still hot.Glaze:5 tsp. lemon juice2 1/2 c. powdered sugar1 Tbsp. lemon rind Mix together and pour over cake while still hot. Put back in oven to glaze it.
