Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- shortening - 1 c
- eggs - 4 item
- flour - 3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- lemon flavoring - 2 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- Glaze while still hot
- powdered sugar
- lemon rind - 1 Tbsp
How to make buttermilk cake:
Mix all together and bake in a tube pan at 350° for 1 hour. Glaze while still hot.Glaze:5 tsp. lemon juice2 1/2 c. powdered sugar1 Tbsp. lemon rind Mix together and pour over cake while still hot. Put back in oven to glaze it.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Low sodium.
