  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • butter - 3 Tbsp
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • nuts - 1 c
  • powdered sugar
  • raisins - 1 c
  • diced, fresh apples - 4 c
  • Add flour, soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg

How to make fresh apple cake:

Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add flour, soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add remaining ingredients. Bake in 9 x 13-inch pan for 1 hour at 350°. Ice when cool (if desired).Icing:1 large pkg. cream cheese1 1/2 c. powdered sugar3 Tbsp. butter Ice with cream cheese, powdered sugar and butter, creamed together.
