Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- cocoa - 1 Tbsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- molasses - 1 Tbsp
- cloves - 1 tsp
- eggs, slightly beaten - 2 item
- buttermilk with 1 tsp - 1 c
How to make buttermilk cake:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, cocoa, molasses, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Add buttermilk. Add flour and mix well. Makes a 2 layer round cake or a loaf cake. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes for layer, a little longer for loaf.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Low sodium.
