Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • margarine - 5 Tbsp
  • paprika - 1 item
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped green pepper - 2 Tbsp
  • mushrooms - 1/2 lb
  • broccoli - 1 1
  • milk or milk substitute - 2 c
  • cheese or cheese substitute - 1 c

How to make broccoli mushroom casserole:

Separate broccoli and cook in 1-inch boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes. Drain. Put in a 9-inch square pan. Melt margarine and blend flour, salt and pepper. Cook and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in milk; add cheese. Saute mushrooms in remaining margarine until tender; add to sauce. Add peppers and cook 1 minute. Pour over broccoli. Sprinkle with cheese and paprika. Bake for 20 minutes at 350°.
