Blackberry cake
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- brown sugar - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- cocoa - 2 tsp
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- white sugar - 1/2 c
- butter 1 1/2 sticks - 3/4 c
- berry preserves - 1 c
- sour milk or 2 tsp - 3/4 c
How to make blackberry cake:
Cream sugar and butter; add eggs. Add milk and berry preserves. Sift together dry ingredients and add to mixture. Last of all add vanilla and 1 1/2 teaspoons soda dissolved in 1/2 cup hot water. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.Note: Recipe from Guatemala.
