Ingredients/Components

  • packed brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • water - 1 c
  • oil - 2 Tbsp
  • paprika - 1 tsp
  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • chili powder - 2 tsp
  • dry white wine - 1/2 c
  • chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • can tomatoes - 1 oz
  • small onion, sliced - 1 item
  • cans black-eyed peas, drained - 2 oz
  • spareribs, cut into 3-inch pieces - 1 lb

How to make black-eyed peas and spareribs:

Saute onion and garlic in oil in 4 or 5-quart pot or skillet. Add spareribs and brown. Sprinkle with paprika, add peas, water and wine. Cover and simmer 1 hour, until ribs are tender. Add tomatoes, green pepper, brown sugar, chili powder, salt and pepp
