Beef stroganoff
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1/4 c
- salt optional - 1 tsp
- large onion - 1 item
- round steak - 2 lb
- sour cream light can be used - 1 c
- fresh or canned mushrooms, sliced - 1/2 lb
- bouillon or consomme - 2 c
How to make beef stroganoff:
Saute onion and mushrooms in 2 tablespoons butter and remove from pan. Cut meat into strips 2 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inch wide. Melt additional 2 tablespoons butter in pan. Toss strips in flour, coating thoroughly. Brown meat in butter. Add salt and bouillon. Simmer, stirring occasionally until meat is tender, about 1 1/4 hours. Add mushrooms and onion and sour cream.
