Beef stroganoff
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 item
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- dairy sour cream - 1 c
- cooking oil - 3 Tbsp
- pepper - 1 item
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1 c
- cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
- dry white wine - 1/4 c
- tomato paste - 2 Tbsp
- can sliced mushrooms - 1 oz
- can condensed beef broth - 1 1/2
- hot cooked noodles - 1 item
- beef sirloin steak, cut in thin strips - 2 lb
How to make beef stroganoff:
Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, brown half the meat at a time in hot cooking oil; drain off fat. Transfer meat to crockery cooker.Stir in beef broth, onion, mushrooms, water, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste and garlic. Cover; cook on low heat setting for 8 to 10 hours. To serve, turn to high heat setting. Heat until bubbly, 15 minutes.
Blend sour cream and wine slowly into cornstarch; stir into meat mixture. Cover and cook 15 minutes longer. Serve over hot noodles. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
