Ingredients/Components
- egg - 1 item
- tsp salt - 1/2 item
- c milk - 2/3 item
- tsp baking powder - 4 item
- tbsp honey - 1 item
- tsp sugar - 3 item
- c shortening - 1/2 item
- c all purpose flour - 2 item
How to make basic biscuits:
In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine the egg, milk, and honey; stir into flour mixture just until combined. turn unto a floured surface; knead 8 to 10 times. Roll out to 1/2 in thickness. Cut with a floured 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter. Place 1 in apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm. Yield 10 biscuits.
