  • cream cheese - 1 (7
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • egg - 1 item
  • powdered sugar - 2 c
  • maraschino cherries - 1 item
  • crushed graham crackers - 2 c
  • large can crushed pineapple, drained - 1 item
  • large carton Cool Whip - 1 item
  • pecans, broken - 1/2 c
  • to 6 bananas - 4 item

How to make banana split cake:

Combine cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press into 9 x 13-inch casserole dish. Combine sugar, cream cheese, vanilla and egg. (Beat 15 minutes, no less.) Pour over crumb mixture. Slice bananas lengthwise over this and spoon drained pineapple over bananas. Cover top with Cool Whip. Sprinkle with nuts and garnish with cherries. Chill overnight.
